Police search for man after Flinders Street station sex assault

Police are hunting for a man who followed and then sexually assaulted a woman outside Flinders Street station earlier this month.

The woman was walking along St Kilda Road in the CBD about 11.20pm on Wednesday September 2.

Police have released footage of a man they wish to identify who was captured walking briskly towards the National Gallery of Victoria on St Kilda Road, before turning back towards the camera.

Detectives have described the man in the footage as caucasian, tall, slim and having short black hair.

He was wearing a black hooded jumper, black pants, tan work boots and a disposable face mask.
