Ivanka vows to attend Biden inauguration to ‘save reputation’ sparking HUGE Trump ‘row’

Donald Trump is ‘a threat to democracy’ says Piers Morgan

Mr Trump has confirmed he will break with tradition by not being present at the ceremony which marks the handover of presidential powers. He will join only a handful of US presidents in doing so.

However, Ivanka has said she wants to make an appearance at the event in order to come across as “a good sport,” a ‘White House insider’ told the Daily Mail.

The President’s daughter, 39, is said to be concerned that her “political career is in jeopardy” and is “doing whatever she can to save her reputation”.

Mr Trump has allegedly hit back at the idea, with the source claiming the President said the move would be “an insult” and could actually cost her supporters rather than gain or retain them.

He also said it would be “the worst decision she could ever make”, they add.

Mr Trump said he would not be attending Mr Biden’s inauguration in a tweet issued last week, before he was spectacularly banned from the platform.

He wrote: “To all those who have asked, I will not be going to the inauguration on January 20th”.

Ivanka has served as a key advisor to the Trump administration over the years, along with her husband Jared Kushner.

She had also been seen on the campaign trail urging various states to vote for her father in the run-up to November’s presidential election.

The administration is now in its final days as Democrat rival Joe Biden is set to take control of the White House officially on January 20.

Tensions are said to be running high as the date comes closer, with another inside source allegedly telling the Daily Mail that Mr Trump’s adult children are “vying for control”.

They also said Mr Trump’s son Donald Trump Jr and Ivanka “talk over each other, which is nothing new, just escalated to the nth degree”.

The tension follows violent protests which hit the US Capitol last Wednesday, as supporters of Donald Trump descended on Washington DC to oppose Congress confirming Joe Biden’s election win.

Now, there are fears of further unrest being organised in the days leading up to Mr Biden’s inauguration.

Twitter, in its statement announcing Donald Trump’s suspension from the platform, said: “Plans for future armed protests have already begun proliferating on and off-Twitter, including a proposed secondary attack on the US Capitol and state capitol buildings on January 17, 2021.”

In addition, the FBI has also warned of such “armed protests” taking place in coming days.

In a bulletin obtained by ABC News reporter Aaron Katersky, the FBI said unrest is “being planned at all 50 states capitols from January 16 through at least 20 January”.

Incoming president Joe Biden has not referenced his inauguration ceremony in the last couple of days on Twitter.

He called last week’s unrest “the culmination” of President Trump’s “all-out assault on the institutions of our democracy”.
