Chinese woman brags she ‘evaded’ airport’s coronavirus checks by taking meds
Panic has set in at airports across Europe after a Chinese woman from Wuhan bragged that she evaded a coronavirus screening as she entered France.
The woman, known only as Yan, uploaded photos of two women at a restaurant in France onto social media platform WeChat and complained she had felt unwell.
Yan said she had flu-like symptoms since before leaving Wuhan earlier this week.
She added: “I had a fever and a cough before I left – I was so scared. I quickly took some medicine and checked my temperature.
“Luckily, the temperature was controlled and I had a smooth journey through the border.”

It is unclear which French airport Yan flew into and where she travelled to since arriving.
French and Chinese officials in the country have been bombarded with emails from concerned social media users who came across Yan’s post.
China’s embassy has since asked Yan to contact their team immediately.
The statement read: “Our embassy has received multiple phone calls and emails from Chinese nationals regarding a woman from Wuhan who posted on social media about deliberately taking fever medication in order to evade the airport temperature checks.
“We attach high importance to this incident and were able to contact Ms Yan, who is involved in this incident.
It continued: “We have requested that she call the French emergency hotline for her case to be handled by the relevant departments.”
