Jay-Z Congratulates Jordan Peele On ‘Us’ Debuting At No. 1

Jay-Z congratulated Jordan Peele on the box office success of the latest movie he directed.

Peele’s Us became America’s No. 1 movie over the weekend with a whopping $70 million collection in its debut.

“For US by US,” Jay-Z said via the Roc Nation Twitter account. “Congrats on the #1 movie in the world,” he tweeted below a photo of himself, Peele, and Kobe Bryant.

The psychological thriller is now second behind Disney’s Captain Marvel ($153 million) for this year’s best opening weekend at the box office.

The film, starring Lupita Nyong’o, Winston Duke, Shahadi Wright Joseph and Evan Alex, surpassed another Peele film Get Out‘s opening weekend collection of $33 million in 2017.

Us was projected to earn between $38 million to $45 million n three days.
