William and Kate cuddle in loved-up pictures to mark 10th wedding anniversary
Prince William and Kate Middleton are today celebrating their 10th wedding anniversary.
They have released two new loved-up images to mark the occasion, taken at Kensington Palace this week by photographer Chris Floyd.
The couple are seen smiling, laughing and cuddling in the pictures, and they are wearing complimentary blue outfits.
Kate has now spent a decade as a member of the royal family, an HRH, a duchess and a future queen.
They married at Westminster Abbey on April 29, 2011 after meeting at university and dating for eight years.
The couple now have three children: Prince George, 7; Princess Charlotte, 5; and Prince Louis, 3.
Kate’s charity work has focused on early years, young people’s mental health, the visual arts and promoting the benefits of outdoor life.
And since the pandemic the couple have become joint patrons of NHS Charities Together, which supports hospitals, mental health services and ambulances beyond the NHS’ core funding.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have carried out engagements via video calls and face-to-face when permitted, and have also helped promote the vaccine drive.
The traditional gift on a 10th wedding anniversary is tin, which symbolises strength and durability.
But they have faced a number of personal challenges over the past year, after William’s brother Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle quit the Royal Family in 2020, then gave a bombshell interview to Oprah Winfrey earlier this year.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex accused the Royal Family of racism, and the institution of failing to support Meghan when she was suicidal.
Meghan also said Kate made her cry in the run-up to her wedding amid a disagreement over flower girl dresses.
But the Duchess was recognised as a potential peacemaker on the day of the Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral, stepping away while walking together to allow the brothers to unite and start to heal their rift.
