Wetherspoons boss reveals 66 workers across 50 pubs have had coronavirus

Wetherspoons has confirmed 66 of its employees have tested positive for coronavirus across 50 of its pubs.

The chain employs more than 41,000 people, and added the ‘vast majority’ of its pubs had recorded no positive tests.

Mr Martin dismissed claims by disease expert Professor Hugh Pennington that pubs are ‘dangerous’.

‘The situation with regard to pubs has been widely misunderstood,’ he added.
