Princess Beatrice steps in for pregnant Eugenie with her due date just days away

Princess Beatrice stepped up the sisterly duties this week by attending a royal engagement, which would likely have been attended by Princess Eugenie. The 33-year-old is preparing to welcome her second child into the world any day now – with mum Sarah Ferguson previously letting slip that her daughter is due “by the end of May”. Princess Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi were pictured at the Chelsea Flower Show on Monday, with Eugenie posting a sweet snap of her elder sister and brother-in-law on her Instagram story.

Princess Beatrice and her husband were pictured attending a show garden by Horatio’s Garden, which is designed for people with spinal injuries.

Princess Eugenie – who has scoliosis – is a “proud” patron of the charity and shared a sweet post on her Instagram story.

Eugenie wrote: “I’m such a proud patron of this charity and my sister loved visiting yesterday.”

The social media post, which was uploaded by Eugenie, included the snap of a smiling Beatrice and Edoardo.

Eugenie announced the exciting news of her second pregnancy earlier this year.

The 33-year-old did not reveal details of her actual due date, only stating that she is due this summer.

The royal and her husband Jack Brooksbank are already proud parents to their two-year-old son August, who was born in February 2021.

Earlier this month, Sarah Ferguson revealed that they “don’t know” whether the baby is a boy or a girl, adding that the baby will be born “any minute now”.

Despite a no-show at the Chelsea Flower Show, Princess Eugenie did step out to celebrate her uncle’s Coronation earlier this month.

The heavily-pregnant royal was sat next to Princess Beatrice, Edoardo and Jack in the third row in Westminster Abbey.

Prince Andrew and Prince Harry also in the same row as the Duke of York’s two daughters and their husbands.

The sisters stepped out for a royal engagement together the day after the Coronation, on May 7.

Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie looked in high spirits as they greeted royal fans at the Big Lunch in Buckinghamshire.

The sisters chatted to those in attendance, with Beatrice thanking them for “having us”.
