Several years ago, Prince William delighted royal fans when it was announced he would marry his girlfriend, Kate Middleton. Since their wedding, Kate, Duchess of Cambridge has gone on to become one of the Royal Family’s most popular members. The couple will soon be celebrating a milestone wedding anniversary.

How long have Kate and William been married?

Prince William married Kate Middleton on April 29, 2011, so the couple have been married just short of 10 years.

The day of the Cambridge’s wedding was regarded as a national holiday in the UK, with thousands of people lining the streets for the nuptials.

Millions of people also tuned in to watch the wedding on TV in the UK and abroad.

In the years following their wedding, Kate and William have welcomed three children.

The Cambridge’s eldest child, Prince George, was born in 2013 and he is expected to be king one day.

William and Kate’s only daughter, Princess Charlotte, was born in 2015.

The couple’s youngest child, Prince Louis, was born in 2018.

How did Kate and William meet?

Although Kate and William tied the knot in 2011, the couple first met several years before this.

William and Kate were undergraduate students at the University of St Andrews in Scotland.

Kate and William both initially studied History of Art, although William later switched his university course to Geography.

William and Kate have been a couple since 2003, although the pair are thought to have split for a brief period in 2007.

William and Kate’s engagement was announced in November 2010 by Clarence House.

William had proposed to Kate in Kenya in October 2010, giving her the engagement ring belonging to his late mother, Princess Diana.

Since their wedding day, Kate and William have been known by their royal titles as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

Where do William and Kate live now?

The official London residence of the Cambridge family is Kensington Palace, where a number of other royals also reside.

The family’s country home is Anmer Hall in Norfolk, with the residence notably where the family spent most of the first UK lockdown.

Anmer Hall was gifted to the couple by the Queen following their marriage.
