During the Royal Rota, ITV’s Lizzie Robinson and former Royal Family photographer Arthur Edwards discussed Prince William’s move to limit the media’s access to his children. Mr Edwards admitted he felt the Duke of Cambridge had made the right move.

Mr Edwards said: “We were overlooking filming Diana running in the Mothers race [at a sports day].

“Those days no longer happen and in many ways, it is for the best.

“William had a big problem over it and he did not want it for his own children.

“I think now looking back, he is right, it was wrong.”

Ms Robsinson replied: “They have managed it quite well in terms of taking their own photographs of the children and giving them to us.

“You get to see a little bit of the children but it is on their terms.”#

In March, a royal commentator revealed the Duchess of Cambridge turned to her children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis to help her get through the aftermath of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s interview with Oprah.

Christina Garibaldi told Us Weekly that the Duchess of Cambridge is extremely protective over her children.

Prince William: Arthur Edwards on how Duke ‘accepted his role’

Ms Garibaldi said: “As for her children, Kate is extremely protective of her three kids that she shares with Prince William.

“A source tells us that she’d hate for them to see her upset or struggling and that she has a lead by example attitude.

“So it’s important for her to be a good role model for them.

“The source adds the children always brighten up her day and she always says that when she goes through a difficult time having her family there always helps.

The royal commentator added: “As for Kate’s relationship with Meghan we hear that the two haven’t spoken directly in over a year due to the tensions between William and Harry.

“A source tells us that Kate never knew the depths of Meghan’s despair.

“She wishes she did because Kate would have tried to help more than she did.”
