Prince Harry ‘invited to Buckingham Palace for lunch’
Royal lookalikes mistaken for Harry and Meghan outside Buckingham Palace
Prince Harry has reportedly been invited for lunch with his family at Buckingham Palace as the Duke makes his whistle-stop visit to the UK for the Coronation of King Charles III.
It is not yet known whether Harry will accept the invitation, which will be seen by many as an olive branch from King Charles and an attempt to mend the ongoing royal feud.
The news comes after it was revealed that Harry will be relegated to the third row inside Westminster Abbey for the service.
It has been reported that Harry will be seated between Princess Eugenie’s husband Jack Brooksbank and Princess Alexandra, the cousin of the late Queen.
In the same row will be Prince Andrew’s daughters Eugenie, 33, and Beatrice, 34, and her husband Edo Mapelli Mozzi.
The front row will be comprised of senior working royals, such as the Prince and Princess of Wales William and Kate.
The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh Edward and Sophie, are also positioned on the front row with their children Lady Louise and James the Earl of Wessex.
A source told the Sun: “There were discussions that the seating could be arranged on line of succession.
“But that would have put fifth-in-line Harry front and centre — and with William and Kate.
“Instead the decision was working royals only at the front and work back from there. Harry will be a long way from his father.”
Reports in recent weeks have indicated that Harry will play a minimal role in the Coronation on Saturday.
It has even been claimed he will not be permitted to join the family on the balcony or appear in any of the official photos.
Reports have also suggested that Harry will be in and out of the UK within 24 hours to get back home for Prince Archie Harrison’s birthday.
One insider told the Daily Mail that Harry and his father may even have a heart-to-heart while he is in the UK.
They said: “Of course, you can never say never. Anything is possible, especially with him. And His Majesty loves his son despite everything.”
But another source said: “To be honest it seems a bit pointless him being there. His place in the pecking order couldn’t be clearer.”
