Prince Harry gifted skimpy swim trunks by Aussies as Meghan Markle in stitches
Prince Harry was presented with a pair of tiny swimming trunks from members of the Australian Invictus Games team today.
The striking budgie smugglers featured a number of world flags and pictures showed him inspecting the gift.
His wife Meghan Markle could be seen to his left laughing and watching in bemusement.
It’s not the first time the Aussie team have presented Harry with such a gift, as the team did the same thing in 2018 when the Games were held in Sydney.
On the first day of the tournament five years ago the Duke was pictured wearing the tight swimming trunks over a pair of jeans, after he was presented with them when a sports presenter and two members of the Australian delegation paid him a visit.

Dylan Alcott, a triple Paralympic gold medallist in wheelchair tennis and wheelchair basketball, said at the time: “We gave him a gift. One of the athletes, Matt [Model], gave him a pair of budgie smugglers. And he put them on, over his jeans. It looks awesome.
“He said: ‘Shall I put them on?’ We said: ‘One hundred percent.’ So he put them on. Good on him.”
The Invictus Games Foundation shared a picture of today’s amusing antics on X, formerly Twitter, captioning the image: “It wouldn’t be an #InvictusGames if the Aussie’s didn’t gift our Patron, The Duke of Sussex a lovely piece of swimwear!”
Royal fans joined in the fun in the comments, with one account writing: “Hahaha! Team Australia never disappoints!”

Harry has been joined at Day 4 of the Games by his wife Meghan, after she flew into Düsseldorf yesterday from Los Angeles, via a brief stopover at Heathrow.
Despite Harry arriving last week in time for Saturday’s opening ceremony, Meghan explained that she had been delayed due to taking care of their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet at home in Montecito.
She addressed the crowd at a reception held on Tuesday night, as she said it was so “special to be here.”
Meghan has traditionally accompanied Harry at every Invictus Games since they went public with their relationship.
On their first day together at the Games the Sussexes looked delighted to be reunited as they walked hand-in-hand and beamed while posing for photographs with competitors and other attendees.
Meghan is expected to remain by her husband’s side for the rest of the week, as she is tipped to be giving an “emotional” speech during the closing ceremony this Saturday.
They will also be together to celebrate Harry’s 39th birthday on Friday, an occasion he reportedly finds difficult due to it falling just after the anniversary of his mother Princess Diana’s death.
