Piers Morgan and a Talk TV contributor engaged in a furious row over the Sussexes’ claims the Royal Family is racist. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are expected to receive a human rights award from the Robert F. Kennedy non-profit for calling out structural racism within the Firm. But the non-profit’s decision has raised many eyebrows, with Piers Morgan joining the chorus of voices saying the racism allegations have never been corroborated.

Piers Morgan could not wrap his head around the fact Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are set to receive the award for a claim that has never been evidenced in a move he branded as “completely shameless and shameful”.

To that, Talk TV contributor Paula Rhone-Adrien said: “Can I stop you by saying that yes, you’re right. You have lost your mind.

“This is about a very renowned institution that has decided to give an award to two people who they think are deserving. They have their own policies and procedures and practices in place which they have considered and tested and decided that Harry and Meghan deserve this award.”

Piers Morgan blasted her comments, saying: “The whole thing is complete horse manure!”

Ms Rhone-Adrien argued the question is whether they are deserving of the award: “Who says they don’t deserve the award? You say they don’t deserve the award.”

Piers Morgan erupted in disbelief: “For taking on structural racism in the Royal Family!”

The Talk TV contributor replied: “That exists.”

When pressed to corroborate her claim, Ms Rhone-Adrien dodged the question and said: “When we say that it hasn’t been proven yet, of course we know how difficult it is to deal with the issue of racism. We know how much harder it is to deal with the fact that we’re talking about an institution.”

Piers Morgan put the Sussexes’ claims to the Talk TV contributor, saying a member of the Royal Family expressed concern about the skin colour of Archie before his birth.

Mr Morgan erupted: “Completely untrue! Absolute lies! They couldn’t get a story right and they never named who that person is.

“I’ve even been told by one person it wasn’t even a member of the Royal Family. The whole family gets smeared as a bunch of callous racists!”

Ms Rhone-Adrien countered Piers Morgan’s claim and said the Sussexes’ intent was to bring awareness of the issue and have the Royal Family confront it.”

Piers Morgan attacked the Talk TV contributor and rejected her points: “They fraudulently accused the Royal Family of being a bunch of callous racists. And there’s no evidence. Where’s the evidence of them being racists?”

The California-based couple have been named recipients of the prestigious Ripple of Hope award in October and are expected to receive it on December 6.

Despite a wave of criticism, the Robert F. Kennedy non-profit has stood by its claim that Meghan and Harry have shown “moral courage” in taking on the “oldest institution in UK history” and calling out “structural racism” within the Firm.

The non-profit’s director Kerry Kennedy told the Spanish publication El Confidencial: “They knew that if they did this there would be consequences, that they would be ostracized, they would lose their family, their position within this structure, and that people would blame them for it.

“They have done it anyway because they believed they couldn’t live with themselves if they didn’t question this authority.”
