North Korea says US soldier entered after 'inhuman maltreatment' within army
An American soldier who defected to North Korea confessed to experiencing ‘inhuman maltreatment and racial discrimination within the US Army’, the Pyongyang has claimed.
Travis King, who crossed the border last month, expressed a willingness to seek refuge after having an ‘ill feeling against the US Army’, the Pyongyang said in its first public acknowledgment of the defection.
King admitted to illegally intruding and said he wanted to seek refuge in North Korea or a third country, the state news agency KCNA said on Tuesday.
