The pregnant Duchess of Sussex filmed a video to be played at Vax Live in which she highlighted how the coronavirus pandemic has disproportionately affected women economically around the world. In the video, Meghan is sitting on a bench outside and she is wearing a vibrant red Carolina Herrera poppy print shirt dress. Fashionista Sarah Bradbury explained how Meghan often tries to embody a message in what she wears.

For this reason, she questioned whether the Duchess may be calling her new baby Poppy and was dropping a hint for fans to notice.

Pod Save the Queen is hosted by Ann Gripper and features Daily Mirror royal editor Russell Myers.

Ms Bradbury guest-stars in the podcast every now and then to comment on royal fashion.

In this week’s episode, she said: “So in Meghan’s first appearance since the Oprah interview we can see her wearing a very gorgeous, very vibrant Carolina Herrera poppy print shirt dress in her virtual appearance.

“As we know, Meghan loves to support a female designer.

“And also usually what she wears kind of embodies a message or a statement that she’s trying to get across, so could the poppy print be a new baby name for the latest royal arrival?

“We don’t know, but I’m sure Poppy and Archie would be quite the little duo we would like to see running around California, so stay tuned, who knows?”

Ms Bradbury went on to discuss Meghan’s jewellery, which included an Awe “Woman Power” charm necklace.

She said: “She paired her outfit with a sort of clenched fist in a female sex symbol, I think it would be.

“Really, really cool necklace and of course her Cartier Love Bracelet, which is a present from Prince Harry and a Jennifer Meyer mini bezel tennis bracelet.

“And of course no outfit would be complete with not one but two Cartier items and she proudly wore her Princess Diana gold Cartier watch, which is absolutely stunning.”

The fashionista also said she was “jealous” of Meghan’s hair which looks “unbelievably long and luscious” at the moment.

As usual, Meghan wore a very smokey eye make-up and heavy coal pencil eyeliner.

The video was played at Vax Live, a concert for which she and Prince Harry were campaign chairs.

Harry appeared at the event himself and expressed gratitude to all the vaccinated frontline workers present and all the frontline workers around the world.

He also called for a more equitable distribution of vaccines.

Prince Harry’s Vax Live speech was ‘otherworldly’ says Seward

The event, which was hosted by Selena Gomez and featured performances from Jennifer Lopez and the Foo Fighters, raised $302million (£213million) for vaccinations.

In her video, Meghan said: “Women and especially women of colour have seen a generation of economic gain wiped out.

“Since the pandemic began, nearly 5.5 million women have lost work in the US and 47 million more women around the world are expected to slip into extreme poverty.

“But if we work together to bring vaccines to every country and continent, insist that vaccines are equitably distributed and fairly priced, and ensure that governments around the world are donating their additional vaccines to countries in need, then we can begin to fully rebuild.”

Meghan is expecting her new baby daughter in the summer, although she did not specify when.

It is likely that the Sussexes will not announce the name of their baby until after she is born, however.
