Lilibet Diana christened in secret US ceremony, Sussexes announce

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have confirmed that their daughter Lilibet Diana has been christened in a private ceremony at their home in Montecito. A spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex said: “I can confirm that Princess Lilibet Diana was christened on Friday, March 3 by the Archbishop of Los Angeles, the Rev John Taylor.”

A source told People magazine said that King Charles, Queen Consort Camilla and the Prince and Princess of Wales were invited to the ceremony but did not attend.

Speculation is now mounting over whether Lilibet has received the official title of princess, with her and older brother Archie now eligible to become titled as their grandfather is the monarch.

According to an insider there were 20-30 guests at the christening, including Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland, close family friend Tyler Perry and an unnamed godmother.
