They also claimed the Duchess of Cambridge adapted to her new life and responsibilities “without fuss”. The revelations starkly contrast with Duchess of Sussex’s Oprah interview in which she suggested Kate received preferential treatment.

During the bombshell interview, Meghan also claimed her mental health struggles after joining the Royal Family were ignored by Palace aides.

But Palace sources insist the Duchess was treated the same as her sister-in-law, who learned the ropes and just got on with it.

A senior Palace figure told the Daily Mail: “It’s been devastating for William and Catherine having to go it alone.

“Thank goodness Catherine at least was able to adapt to her new life without any fuss.

“I can’t recall her complaining about anything. No one at the Palace did any more for her than for Meghan.

“It’s always been the same when someone new arrives in the family – you’re here, you’ll learn, now get on with it. She did. She gives William so much confidence.”

They went on to heap praise on Kate for bringing stability to Prince William and the rest of the Royal Family.

And in a sly dig at accusations that Meghan is an ambition social climber, they claim that Kate, 38, is the complete opposite.

One senior Palace figure said: “Catherine is so marvellously uncompetitive considering the amount of attention she gets from everyone.

“She manages to raise the Queen’s spirits.

“The Queen sees it as quite wonderful that William married such a sensible girl whom the public seem to love for her own sake.”

During Harry and Meghan’s explosive Oprah Winfrey interview they claimed that the coverage she received was far more negative than Kate.

It has since emerged that many of the headlines were taken out of context – or cut down so they were misrepresented.

ITV was forced to edit their interview for online streaming after several publications complained.

Palace sources spoke out a day after the Cambridges celebrated the third birthday of their youngest child Prince Louis and ahead of couple’s 10th wedding anniversary next week.

The Duchess of Cambridge shared a picture of Louis on his bike to mark the occasion as he headed off on his first day of nursery school.

Louis is shown beaming as he sat on his bike in the grounds of Kensington Palace.
