Despite her known love of photography, the Duchess revealed this week her three children, Prince George, 7, Princess Charlotte, 6, and Prince Louis, 3, have often asked her to put the camera down. Kate made the surprising revelation during a video call with Ceri A. Edwards, who participated in her Hold Still photography project last year. Ms Edwards chatted to the future Queen about one of the photos featured in Kate’s book, which captured her daughter Poppy hugging her father Mark as he went off to work as a paramedic during the devastating Covid pandemic.
Kate asked Ms Edwards if she was a photographer, but she responded: “No. Well, Mark would say otherwise just because I do take a lot of pictures of the family.”
The Duchess quickly added: “It’s like me.
“Everyone’s like, ‘Mummy, please stop taking photographs!'”
Ms Edwards then agreed as she said: “Absolutely. But I love it, and I love looking back.”
Kate often shares the photos she has taken of her family on her official Kensington Royal social media accounts to mark special occasions.
Most recently, she shared a poignant photo of the Queen and Prince Philip, just after he died, as they sat with their great-grandchildren in 2018.
She also shares photos of her children on their birthdays, with Prince Louis’s third birthday recently being marked in April with an adorable snap taken by his mother of him riding a red bike.
Royal photographer Arthur Edwards also recently praised Kate for her photography skills and said he is a “great admirer” of her work.
Speaking on ITV’s The Royal Rota podcast about the photo shared in June 2020 to celebrate Prince William’s 38th birthday, he said: “The picture that I love most that she’s done is William and the three children on the swing.
“I would have killed to have taken that picture.
“Everybody’s laughing at their mum, and you know that only a mother or a father could get that picture, and it’s an absolute winner.
“Charlotte with her arm around daddy, you know, ‘daddy’s girl.’

“It’s a lovely picture, I was so full of praise for her on that.”
Meanwhile, Kate said she “can’t wait to meet” the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s daughter Lilibet during a visit to a Cornish school with US First Lady Jill Biden today.
A broadcast journalist from an American network put Kate on the spot when she asked: “Your Royal Highness, do you have any wishes for your niece Lilibet?”
The duchess replied smiling: “I wish her all the very best.
“I can’t wait to meet her because we haven’t yet met her yet, so hopefully that will be soon.”
She was also asked if she had spoken with Meghan: “Have you FaceTimed with her?”
Kate replied: “No, I haven’t.”
White House aides and Kensington Palace officials then quickly ended the impromptu press conference.
