Kate Middleton's adorable nickname for Prince Louis revealed

Though still young, Prince Louis captured the hearts of the nation during the coronation.

While his older siblings, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, were on their best behaviour, he fidgeted, grimaced, giggled and pouted on the Buckingham Palace balcony after King Charles was crowned.

Perhaps this is why the Princess of Wales nicknamed her youngest child ‘Lou Bug’.

After entertaining members of the public from the Palace, the five-year-old joined the rest of his family, taking part in the Big Help Out – a nationwide volunteering initiative on Monday.

While volunteering with a Scout group, they roasted marshmallows over a fire pit.

Handing Louis a stick, Kate was overheard telling him to ‘Pop that in the fire, Lou Bug’.

Moments later, the youngster was seen tucking into a smore – and doing a wiggly dance out of joy.

Social media was soon filled with comments about his sweet moniker and the way his mum interacted with Louis during his first ever royal engagement.

‘OMG Kate calls him “Lou Bugs”, which is nuts as I call my son the same thing,’ a mum wrote on Twitter.

George, Charlotte and Louis helped renovate the Scout hut in Slough, Berkshire, under the watchful eye of their parents.

Louis joined his siblings and parents by shovelling dirt, pushing wheelbarrows and operating a digger, while sitting on the Prince of Wales’ lap.

The young prince also tried his hand at archery, entertaining everyone at there by pulling hilarious faces.
