Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, “got used to the very strange life” of being in the Royal Family because of her preparation, according to commentators. ITV’s Lorraine discussed the future queen consort’s “introduction” into the monarchy as they celebrated her and Prince William’s 10th wedding anniversary. Vanity Fair Royal Editor Katie Nicholl gave insight into why the royal engagement took a while to come in the first place.
She told viewers: “I think he knew from the early days that there was something very special in Kate.
“But he wanted to wait and he wanted to be sure.”
Host Lorraine Kelly added: “They did it well.
“They introduced her properly.”
She continued: “I remember you went to see them when you were getting engaged.
“She sort of gave you a little flash of their ring and everything.
“They introduced slowly, slowly.
“She had an auditioning process.”
