The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge gave a rare glimpse into their family life in a video released on Thursday to mark their 10th wedding anniversary. Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams said William, who is second in line to the throne, and Kate showed the Royal Family will be more “informal” when they are King and Queen.

He told MailOnline: “The Cambridges are clearly signalling that the monarchy in the future will have a more informal style, which will suit changing times.

“In William and Catherine, we have the ideal couple to face the challenges which lie ahead for the monarchy and the photographs and video which celebrate their first decade of marriage show us how happy they are with their lives and in their roles.”

The video shows the couple and their three children at their Norfolk residence, Anmer Hall, and on sand dunes at a nearby beach.

William and Kate play with their children in the clip, which was posted on their official Twitter account.

In a tweet accompanying the clip, William and Kate thanked those who had sent “kind messages” to mark the milestone.

The message, signed W&C, said: “Thank you to everyone for the kind messages on our wedding anniversary.

“We are enormously grateful for the 10 years of support we have received in our lives as a family.”

William and Kate also shared two portraits showing them cuddling and smiling for their 10th wedding anniversary.

Royal author Penny Junor described Kate, who has now spent a decade as a fully signed up member of the Royal Family, as a “model of what a future Queen should be”.

Ms Junor said: “I think she has been absolutely extraordinary and a model of what a future queen should be.

“She has got such poise and elegance and she’s not in competition with William.

“She doesn’t seem to be seeking fame.”

William and Kate tied the knot at Westminster Abbey on April 29 2011 after an eight-year relationship.

Ten years on they are parents to seven-year-old Prince George, Princess Charlotte, five, and three-year-old Prince Louis.

The Cambridges have faced personal challenges over the past year, including dealing with Megxit and the Sussexes’ Oprah Winfrey interview.

The couple put on a fun display as they stepped out for royal engagements in County Durham on Tuesday.

They drove tractors at a family farm before showing off their golf skills as they visited a charity which helps young people with learning disabilities.
