Daniela Elser said the birth of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s baby could lead to them making up with the royals as she described the new arrival as “one of the most promising moments yet” for brothers Harry and Prince William to bury the hatchet. But the royal expert also warned things could go the other way and “fall even more spectacularly apart”.

Writing for news.com.au, Ms Elser said: “In fact, the next three or so weeks could make or break whether Harry ever truly patches things up with his family.

“The reason? At some point in the very near future, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex is set to give birth to her second child, a little girl, and the bub’s arrival could be the catalyst so desperately needed to bring the two men back together.

“That or things could fall even more spectacularly apart, so no pressure now.

“Babies after all have a way of bringing people together, or tearing them apart.”

Former actress Meghan is due to give birth to a daughter in the summer.

Reports have claimed the tot could be due as soon as Thursday – which would have been Prince Philip’s 100th birthday.

A source said Harry and Meghan were thinking about naming their baby Pip after the late Duke of Edinburgh or Lily in honour of the Queen.

The insider told The Sun: “The baby is due on Philip’s birthday and it would be so special if she came then.

“That, and naming her Pip, would be a lovely way to pay tribute to Philip.

“Harry has been discussing the due date and possible names with his close pals and they’re talking about it quite openly now it’s getting close.”

The Sussexes have been embroiled in a well-documented rift with the Royal Family in the wake of Megxit.

Harry and Meghan made a number of damaging claims about the royals in their controversial Oprah Winfrey interview, which aired in March.

The Duke laid bare his rift with William, saying: “The relationship is space, at the moment. Time heals all things, hopefully.”

Harry also claimed his older brother and father Prince Charles were “trapped” in their royal roles.

He went on to hit out at his family last month during an appearance on the Armchair Expert podcast.

And he lashed out at the royals once again in his Apple TV documentary series, The Me You Can’t See.

Harry is due to return to the UK next month for the unveiling of a Princess Diana statue at Kensington Palace.

It will be the second time he has set foot in Britain since Megxit, after he returned for his grandfather Philip’s funeral in April.
