On Tuesday, the First Minister announced that the 500 person cap on outdoor events would be lifted from January 17, with the cap on attendees at indoor events set to be lifted the following week.

Ms Sturgeon has said that she will do “everything in her power” to hold a second referendum on Scottish independence by 2023.

Speaking STV’s Scotland Tonight, the First Minister said that said the date legislation would be introduced to allow the referendum to go ahead would be announced “when we’ve taken the detailed decisions”, adding that there were “opportunities that come with Scotland being independent”.
