What It Looks Like on Both Sides of the Border

Reporting from Ciudad Juárez, Mexico and El Paso, Texas



People have already begun gathering at the border ahead of the expected Title 42 policy expiration on Thursday.



In El Paso, many migrants have already crossed the border and are living on the streets.



An informal economy has sprung up here. One resident is charging $1 for a phone charge.



Others are selling cardboard scraps to be used as bedding.



Many who have crossed are waiting until Title 42 expires so that they can apply for asylum and stay longer.



On Thursday, members of the National Guard set up strands of barbed wire.



By Friday, people were already crossing through it.
