Waukesha parade crash: Darrell Brooks in court charged with intentional homicide

A man accused of ploughing his car through a Christmas parade in the US has been charged with homicide – it comes as prosecutors said a child had become the sixth person to die after the incident.

Darrell Brooks, 39, appeared in court over Sunday’s incident in Waukesha, Wisconsin, and faced multiple counts of first-degree intentional homicide.

Four women and one man also died when the SUV sped down the parade route

More than 60 people were also injured.

The adults who died were Virginia Sorenson, 79, LeAnna Owen, 71, Tamara Durand, 52, Jane Kulich, 52, and Wilhelm Hospel, 81.
